Kribhco in talks with oil cos to source LNG

Krishak Bharati Cooperative (Kribhco) is in talks with various gas suppliers, including Reliance Industries, for sourcing 2 mmscmd of LNG to expand capacity at Hazira plant. ?We are speaking to Indian Oil Corp, Gail and Reliance for our LNG requirements,? Kribhco MD B D Sinha said. Mr Sinha, however, said there has been no firm commitment from any of the players yet.

?We hope to finalise a deal in the next 15-20 days,? he said. Kribhco has undertaken a Rs 1,750-crore expansion plan, which will enable the company to add 3,250 tonnes per day of new urea capacity to its existing capacity of 3,200 tonnes a day. Kribhco currently receives 3.6 mmscmd of natural gas for its ammonia manufacturing operations.
