Dabhol's LNG terminal up for sale
1-Jan-1970

The government might sell the Dabhol Power Plant's LNG terminal after hiving off the electricity generating unit, reports CNBC-TV18. Power officials told wire agency PTI that the selloff may be because of delays in completion of unfinished parts of the terminal and cost overruns.

An official said that Cabinet Secretary BK Chaturvedi, at a review meeting on August 21, observed that the LNG terminal might be sold to Petronet LNG, which would also be responsible for sourcing gas.

The asset transfer agreement says Indian lenders would bear the additional cost of completing the terminal.
