Petronet LNG Ltd, India?s largest liquefied natural gas importer, has signed a contract for import of additional 2.5 million tonnes of LNG per annum from RasGas of Qatar. PLL at present imports 5 mtpa of LNG from RasGas and the additional volumes would start flowing from the July-September quarter of 2009, company MD and CEO P Dasgupta said.

The agreement was signed on August 3. Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company Ltd (II) (RasGas-II) said this would complete a 7.5 mtpa sales and purchase agreement signed in 1999
