Mr. Vivek Rae
Chairman
Current Assignment
Mr. Vivek Rae took over as Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas in the month of February, 2013.

Previous Experience
Mr. Vivek Rae entered the Indian Administrative Service in 1978, a brief stint as a Management Trainee with Hindustan Lever Limited (subsidiary of Unilever Limited). As a civil servant, Mr. Rae has acquired wide ranging experience cutting across social and economic sectors, including health, education, planning and finance. Mr. Rae served as Deputy Commissioner in the state of Arunachal Pradesh from 1985 to 1988 which is the cutting edge of government administration for delivery of development programmes at the field level, combined with magisterial responsibilities for law and order. Mr. Rae served briefly at the Prime Minister's Office during 1989-90 and thereafter worked as Assistant Resident Representative with the United National Development Programme, New Delhi from 1991-1995, with responsibility for Industry, Trade and Technology programmes. Mr. Rae worked as Finance Secretary and Planning Secretary in the state of Goa during 1996-1999, Planning Secretary in the National Capital Territory of Delhi during 1999-2001 and Joint Secretary (Plan Finance) in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India during 2002-2006. The assignment in the Ministry of Finance entailed responsibilities for appraisal and review of major development programmes and investment decisions of the Government of India.

As Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Islands (2008-2010), the highest ranking civil servant leading an administration of more than 20000 employees, Mr. Rae was charged with responsibilities for overall coordination, policy formulation and implementation of programmes across the entire spectrum of development activities including health, education industries, labour, agriculture & animal husbandry, fisheries, forests, tribal welfare, social welfare, tourism, shipping, ports, public works and other activities. The responsibilities also included direct oversight for matters relating to internal security, coastal security and police administration.

Earlier, Mr. Rae served as Director General (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defense of the Government of India, during 2010-12 with responsibilities for modernization of the Indian Armed Forces, handling a budget of about US$ 10-13 billion per annum. Mr. Rae was posted briefly as Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, prior to taking up the current assignment.

Education
Mr. Rae has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Degree in Economics from St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi and Masters Degree in Economics and Politics from New College, University of Oxford.
 

Dr. A. K. Balyan
Managing Director & CEO
Dr. A. K. Balyan has joined the Company as Managing Director & CEO w.e.f. 16th July, 2010. He holds Degree in M. Tech. from IIT, Delhi and also Ph.D. from Germany. Prior joining Petronet LNG Ltd., he was Director (HR) of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) and also had additional charge as Director, In-charge Business Development and Joint Ventures, ONGC. Dr. Balyan took over as Chief-Human Resources Development of ONGC in 2002 and appointed to the Board of Directors of ONGC as Director HR in 2003. As Director (HR), he led Corporate Rejuvenation Campaign, Pioneered a study to redefine the organization norms-focusing on Roster, Roles and Responsibilities to be benchmarked with global best practices.
 

Shri R. K. Garg
Director (Finance)
Shri R.K. Garg has taken over the charge of Director (Finance) of Petronet LNG Limited on 20th July, 2011. He possesses rich experience of over 3 decades in the areas of Finance, Commercial, Legal, Compliance etc. He is a Post Graduate in Commerce and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
He joined the Company in its initial formative years in 2001 as Vice President (Finance) & Company Secretary and has been a part of the key senior management team involved in all its strategic decisions for sourcing of LNG, sales agreements, construction and financing of LNG terminals.  
Shri Garg started his career with SAIL in the year 1979 as Junior Finance Officer and after working for over two decades in various disciplines in Finance and Corporate Planning, became the Company Secretary of SAIL. He moved from SAIL to Petronet LNG Limited.
 

Shri Rajender Singh
Director (Technical)
Shri Rajender Singh has taken over the charge of Director (Technical) of Petronet LNG Limited on 14th November 2012. He has completed his B.Sc. (Engineering) -Civil from NIT (formerly REC), Kurukshetra in 1981. He has rich experience in handling various oil & gas projects from conceptualization to commissioning in ONGC at Ankleshwar, Gandhar, Assam and Hazira. He has been associated with Petronet LNG since 2001 as a part of Project Management Team of ONGC for construction of LNG Terminal Dahej phase-I. Mr. Singh joined Petronet LNG Limited in 2006 as VP (Plant Head) - Dahej. Later he took the responsibilities of Sr. VP (Dahej & Kochi).Top
 

Shri B. C. Tripathi
Director
Shri B.C. Tripathi is a Chairman & Managing Director of GAIL (India) Ltd. and a nominee Director of GAIL (India) Ltd. on the Board of Petronet LNG Ltd. He is a Mechanical Engineer Graduate from NIT Allahabad, formerly known as Moti Lal Nehru Regional Engineering College, Allahabad. He started his career in ONGC and subsequently joined  GAIL in 1984. Shri Tripathi is one of the founder employee of GAIL and has worked under different capacities in different departments in GAIL. He was involved in the construction and commissioning of the HBJ pipeline Project, which received Silver Medal for Excellence in Project Management in the Mega Project Category from International Project Management Association, Germany.
 

Shri R. K. Singh
Director
Shri R. K. Singh is a nominee Director of BPCL on the Board of Petronet LNG Ltd. Shri Singh is the Chairman & Managing Director of BPCL. Having completed his B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with Honours from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 1974, Mr. Singh had a brief stint in Hindustan Lever and Hindalco before embarking on his career in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) in 1978. Since then, Mr. Singh has held various important assignments, both in the Refinery and Marketing divisions of the company.  
 

Sudhir Vasudeva
Director
Shri Sudhir Vasudeva is the Chairman & Managing Director of ONGC Ltd. and Nominee Director of ONGC on the Board of Petronet LNG Ltd. He is a Gold Medalist Chemical Engineer from National Institute of Technology, Raipur, joined ONGC in 1976. He climbed the corporate ladder steadily and joined ONGC Board as Director (Offshore) in February, 2009. With over three and half decades of experience in the entire gamut of upstream oil and gas business on the larger canvas of ONGC, Shri Vasudeva took over as Chairman & Managing Director of ONGC on October3, 2011.

Shri Vasudeva, Chairman of Petrotech Society, is also Chairperson of SPE Indian Council and Director-at Large at SPE International Board of Directors, the first by any Indian.Top
 

Shri A. M. K. Sinha
Director
Mr. Akhoury Manoj Kumar Sinha, a Mechanical Engineer, has over 33 years of diverse experience with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited, the largest commercial organization in India. Mr. Sinha possesses rich experience of efficiently managing critical portfolios across the whole marketing value chain of the downstream oil sector. During Mr. Sinha’s leadership Indian Oil continued to retain position of pride as India’s No.1 Petroleum Retailer.
Under his leadership, Indian Oil has won many accolades over the years in retailing viz "Gold Winner" in Petrol Stations Service, "Most Admired Retailer" of the year in Rural Retailing etc.
Prior to taking over as Director (P&BD), Mr. Sinha worked as Executive Director (Corporate Planning & Economic Studies) at Corporate office of Indian  Oil and was responsible for building futuristic scenarios, analysis of external & internal environment, SWOT framework for strengthening planning process and for venturing into new business domain.
 

Shri M. Dominique PELLOUX-PRAYER
Director
Shri M. Dominique PELLOUX-PRAYER is the Nominee Director of GDF International on the Board of Petronet LNG Ltd. He is Graduate Engineer from the Ecole Centrale de Paris, joined Gaz de France in 1980. He worked as Deputy Vice-President for LNG within Gaz de France from 2004 to 2008, and was appointed as of October 2008 as Vice-President of GDF SUEZ, heading the Facilities Asset Management Department of the LNG Division, in charge of the interests of the Group in liquefaction plants and supply-driven receiving terminals.
 

Shri Tapan Ray
Director
Shri Tapan Ray is the Managing Director of Gujarat State petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPCL). He is the nominee Director of Gujarat Maritime Board/Govt. of Gujarat on the Board of Petronet LNG Ltd. Before joining the company in Nov., 2009, he was Principal Secretary (Economic Affairs), Finance Department. He is an IAS Officer, Gujarat (1982 Batch) and having a rich administrative and corporate experience. He also holds a degree in Engineering from IIT Delhi, a post graduate degree in public policy from Princeton University, USA, a Masters in Public Administration from Syracuse University, USA and a degree in law with various diplomas.Top
 

Shri B. C. Bora
Director
Shri B. C. Bora having more than 45 years of experience in Oil & Gas sector, both within and outside India. He superannuated from ONGC as Chairman & Managing Director in 2001. Shri Bora started his career with Oil India Limited, as a Production Engineer in 1962 and rose to become the Chairman and Managing Director of the Company in 1992, a position he held until 1995, when he moved to ONGC as its Chairman and Managing Director and superannuated from that position in 2001.He was actively involved with a number of important Committees and task forces of the Government of India, related to the Hydrocarbon and Energy industries, to help the Government, to decide on various policy issues on Oil & Gas Sector, as well as Public Sector in general.
He was also associated with a number of Technical, Social and Sports organizations in the Country as an important office bearer. He has remained associated with Petroleum Sector by being part time Consultant and Advisor to a number of Companies engaged in the Energy Sector.
 

Shri Ashok Sinha
Director
Shri Ashok Sinha has spent a charismatic 33 years at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited,(BPCL), one of India’s largest organizations, with an estimated turnover (2010) of Rs.1500 billion (US$ 33 billion), and listed as a Fortune 500 company,operating in a complex and nationally strategic sector.
Shri Ashok Sinha has served on the Board of BPCL for 15 years – first as Director (Finance) for 10 years from 1995 and then as its Chairman and Managing Director for 5 years. In recognition of his three decade long tryst with innovation, Shri Ashok Sinha was one of the four CEOs from India, who were invited to the world’s CEOs roundtable event at Frankfurt in February 2007 on the topic of "Growth through Business Model Innovations".
Shri Ashok Sinha has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur and Masters in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, with specialization in Finance.
 

R Ram Mohan
Director
Shri R. Ram Mohan retired from State Bank of India, largest commercial bank in India, as Chief General Manager (Financial Control) at the Bank’s Corporate Centre in Mumbai in Dec., 2006 after serving the Bank in various senior management positions all over India and abroad over 35 years. He had joined SBI in 1971 after his post – graduation in English Literature from Kerala University. During his long association with SBI, he had acquired extensive expertise in lending to corporates, performance evaluation of SBUs, business strategy formulation and Treasury Operations. He had served as General Manager at the Bank’s Local Head Offices in both Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar. During his stint at Bank’s Corporate Centre, he was Member Secretary of all-important Asset Liability Committee (ALCO), which decide on the interest rate view of the Bank and its Balance Sheet management.Top
